Completers

Rounded Rectangle: Here is Kevin Piper and Dave Johnson who completed the main Macmillan Way earlier this year. Kevin and Dave were sponsored for their efforts and raised £4,470 for Macmillan
Rounded Rectangle: Neville Huggins and his wife Christine walked The Macmillan Way in stages between 2005 and 2008. This was a tremendous achievement for Christine during the latter stages as she had been diagnosed with cancer. Neville has kindly sent us the diary that he kept about their walk together. We hope to publish this soon as a tribute to Christine who has since died.
A memorial service to celebrate Christine’s life raised over £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support
Rounded Rectangle: Here we see Jenny Davidson on Chesil Beach together with her dog Swift. Both Jenny and Swift completed all 290-miles from Boston in just 12-days. Jenny raised over £6,000 for Macmillan which to date is a record amount for a lone walker. Also pictured is Sue Garfitt who kept Jenny company on two of the days.
Since walking the Macmillan Way in 2003 Jenny has created her own LDP, Shakespeare’s Avon Way, an 88-mile route that follows the course of the River Avon from the source to it’s confluence with the River Severn. Jenny now manages The Macmillan Ways network having taken over the reigns when the founder, Peter Titchmarsh, retired.
Rounded Rectangle: Below are just a few of the many hundreds of walkers who have completed all or part of our footpaths. If you have photographs that you would be willing to share we would love to hear from you. Drop us a line by clicking here and tell us your story.

They walked the Macmillan Way in three one week stages in 2007, 2009 and 2011. Their efforts, in memory of Carol Ann McIndoe and Wendy McIndoe who both died of cancer within a year of each other, raised around £3,500 in sponsorship
Rounded Rectangle: Martin Thompson set out from Boston on 16th June 2011, the day that would have been his 38th wedding anniversary, to walk 416-miles along the Macmillan Way and the Macmillan Way West.
