The main Macmillan way runs from Boston on the Lincolnshire coast to the Dorset coast at Abbotsbury. It is called the Macmillan Way because all funds raised are donated to Macmillan Cancer Support, a vitally important charitable organisation whose role is to help people living with cancer by providing them with expert care and practical and emotional support.

The fully waymarked Macmillan Way is 290 miles in length and follows existing footpaths, bridleways and byways, and small stretches of minor roads when these are unavoidable. It runs across beautiful open fen country for its first thirty miles and for the rest of its journey it then follows, as near as possible, the course of the oolitic limestone belt, comprising stone known as 'Cotswold' in the area, but which runs in slightly varying form all the way from South Yorkshire to Dorset. It passes through a number of small towns and villages, the architectural features which have much in common. Many walkers have expressed great surprise at the many areas of unspoilt countryside that they have passed through while on the Way.

Macmillan Way West is a 102 mile, fully waymarked branch path leaving the main path at Castle Cary in Somerset and heading across the Somerset Levels, the Quantocks and Exmoor, to Barnstaple on the North Devon coast. It is therefore now possible to walk across England from Boston to Barnstaple, a distance of 346 miles.

The Macmillan Abbotsbury  Langport Link allows walkers to go 126 miles. Coast to coast from Abbotsbury to Barnstaple, using Macmillan Way West from Langport onwards

The Macmillan Cross Cotswold Pathway is largely based on the Cotswold section of the Macmillan Way, but starting from Banbury and ending at Bath. We have also developed a route between Chipping Campden and Banbury known as The Cotswold Link. This enables walkers to do a 'Cotswold Round', going from Banbury to Bath on the Cross Cotswold Pathway, from Bath to Chipping Campden on the Cotswold Way and returning to Banbury on the Cotswold Link. Details of all our guidebooks will be found on our Publications Page.

We raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support (Registered Charity No 261017) by encouraging walkers to obtain sponsorship from friends, relations and working colleagues and also from profit on our publications. So far well over £300,000 has been raised. More information on Macmillan Cancer Support can be obtained by clicking here.  Sponsors forms are available from us by E-mail, just request one via the link below.
